Sylvie Durán Salvatierra
Minister of Culture and Youth in Costa Rica. She has been dedicated to intercultural research-action in the performing arts - music, dance, festivities - and in cultural projects for central American integration since 1997; she is also an actress and a singer. She later specialised in cultural management and public policies at the University of Girona, Spain. She worked in the institutional field and in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Youth, the UNESCO Office in San José for Central America, the Support Programme for the Regional Integration of Central American in SICA and the Spanish Cooperation Agency’s Network of Cultural Centres (AECID). She has been a teacher and researcher and group-process facilitator in cultural issues. She is currently part of the academic body of Virtual Postgraduate Degrees in Cultural Management and Creative Entrepreneurs at the University of Cordoba, Argentina in the "Economics and cultural development, and "the Association's movement and cultural management” courses, the virtual postgraduate degrees in "Cultural Management" and "Cities and Enterprise". She has worked as a consultant in culture and development; cultural heritage and tourism, networks and associations; economics, sustainability of culture and management models.
