Carmen Romero Bachiller

(Madrid, 1975)

PhD in Sociology and lecturer in the Department of Sociology: Methodology and Theory of the Complutense University of Madrid. She spent time abroad in the University of California, Santa Cruz (USA), the University of Utrecht (Netherlands) and the University of Lancaster (United Kingdom). Her main research interest deals with bodies and practices as products of relational materiality, considering vulnerabilities and privileges from a feminist and queer intersectional perspective, about which she has published several works. She is currently working on the reconstruction of biomedical knowledge and practices by activist collectives, from a feminist perspective in the context of STS/STG studies, and she is leading the research project ‘Feminist epistemologies and health activisms: emerging practices, care and knowledge in biomedical contexts’.
