Timothy Snyder

Lecturer of History at Yale University and permanent fellow of the Institute for Human Sciences of Vienna. He specialises in European history, in particular the holocaust and the totalitarian regimes. He has written numerous books about dictatorships, among which include Bloodlands: Europe Between Hitler and Stalin (Galaxia Gutenberg, 2011), for which he was awarded the Hannah Arendt Prize for Political Thought (2013). The most recently translated title into Catalan is On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons from the Twentieth Century (Catalan - Sobre la tirania: 20 lliçons que hem d’aprendre del segle XX (Ediciones Destino, 2017 (in Spanish Galaxia Gutenberg)), a collection of universal teachings about the rise of tyranny and the capacity of citizens to combat its establishment. He has just published The Road to Unfreedom: Russia, Europe, America (Penguin, 2018). He also writes articles in the The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The New Republic, The New York Times Review of Books and The Guardian.
