Manuel Aires Mateus
(Lisbon, 1963)
Graduate in architecture from the Technical University of Lisbon, 1986. After several years of collaboration with the architect Gonçalo Byrne, he began his professional career alongside his brother Francisco Aires Mateus, in 1988. He has been a lecturer at the Lusíada University, Lisbon, since 1997 and at the Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio too since 2001. He was awarded the prestigious Pessoa Prize in 2017.
