Francesca Bria
Senior Researcher and Advisor on information and technology policy. PhD in Innovation Economics from Imperial College, London University, and a Master’s degree in Digital Economy from Birkbeck College, London University. As a Senior Project Lead at Nesta, the United Kingdom’s Innovation Agency, she ran the EU D-CENT project, the biggest of its kind in Europe on direct democracy and digital currencies. She also ran the DSI project, advising the EU on digital social innovation policies. She has taught classes at several universities in the UK and Italy and advised governments, organisations and public and private movements on technology and innovation policies and their socio-economic impact.
She is an adviser to the European Commission on Future Internet and Innovation Policies. She is currently the leader of the DECODE project, Europe's biggest resource on data sovereignty.
